Cheryl Vincent
Construction Site Manager
Habitat for Humanity
Cheryl has had an amazing career as a Detroit Public School educator. She has followed this up with more than 23 years in the construction industry. In addition to having her own contracting company, she now plays an integral role as part of the Habitat for Humanity Detroit construction team. She has been involved with helping to build homes and hope in the community.
What makes Cheryl truly stand out is her ability to work with Habitat volunteers, regardless of their construction skill level. Volunteer after volunteer say that Cheryl is a highlight of their experience with Habitat. She helps teach new skills while ensuring that our homes are built and rehabbed at the highest standard possible for our Habitat homeowners.
Cheryl has a wide breadth of knowledge when it comes to construction. She encourages those she interacts with, volunteers, staff, and homeowners, to learn and explore construction basics as well. Whether it is encouraging them to become a core volunteer for Habitat or to simply providing knowledge for their own homeownership journey, she is focused on creating a positive, productive experience. The joy Cheryl feels for making an impact in the lives of others through the use of her skills is evident every time you see her on a job site. She always aims to be a welcoming, encouraging, and supportive site leader.
